A TOUCH OF TANGO WITH THE MAGIC FLUTE

Istanbul's music lovers had the opportunity to listen to a live performance of one of Kutluer's most adored albums TANGO GOES SYMPHONY, consisting of popular tango melodies played with flute and accompanied by a symphony orchestra for the first time in the world. The “Virtuosi di Praga” orchestra from the Czech Republic accompanied Kutluer in the concert conducted by Peter Breiner who is also responsible for the musical arrangement of the album. Breiner also played the piano in the concert where classic tangos like La Cumparsita, Libertango, Milonga and Adios Nonino by famous composers like Astor Piazzola, Rodriguez ve Canaro were played while Sanem Subaygil and Ayhan Uluş Aytan from the Ankara Opera and Ballet put on a dance performance. “ŞEFIKA’S MENUETTO” composed by Jose Elizondo, a Mexican composer living in America, especially for Kutluer, as well as his “Autumn in Buenos Aires” tango were also played in the concert. Both of these works are included in “Latin Romance”, Kutluer's second album based on Latin music and her 17th album.

SYMPHONY MEETS TANGO

TANGO GOES SYMPHONY was created to combine popular tango pieces with classical music, arranging these pieces for flute accompanied by a symphony orchestra and thus immortalized these indispensible tango songs in a timeless classical arrangement, while broadening the audience for classical music. Şefika Kutluer and her long-time collaborator Peter Breiner, made classical arrangements for these tango melodies they meticulously selected and recorded with the Razumovsky Orchestra. After a lengthy and arduous preparation process “Tango Goes Symphony” was created. Tango Goes Symphony has been at the top of the charts all over the world, notably in Japan and the United States.

Peter Breiner, who has recorded more than 150 albums as well as numerous soundtracks, has previously broken sales records with his album “Beatles Go Baroque”.
