O’Art showcases works by nine artists in the exhibition “Lorem Ipsum”

O’Art, the art platform of Odeabank, welcomes art enthusiasts to “Lorem Ipsum,” a group exhibition showcasing the fusion of text and form through the works of nine artists. “Lorem Ipsum,” the second exhibition of the season, opened at Akaretler Sıraevler No. 11 on February 17 and will be available for art enthusiasts to visit for a month. The exhibition presents works by artists Berkay Tuncay, Gülen Eren, Leyla Emadi, Emin Çelik, Merve Ünsal, Merve Ertufan, Nancy Atakan, Huo Rf, and Eylül Ersöz.

Supporting art and artists since 2015, Odeabank’s art platform O’Art is now presenting the “Lorem Ipsum” exhibition at Akaretler Sıraevler No. 11. The exhibition, which opened on February 17, displays 16 works by Berkay Tuncay, Gülen Eren, Leyla Emadi, Emin Çelik, Merve Ünsal, Merve Ertufan, Nancy Atakan, Huo Rf, and Eylül Ersöz.

Begüm Güney, curator of the group exhibition “Lorem Ipsum,” explained: “The theme of the exhibition, ‘typography,’ a word of Greek origin, is derived from the combination of ‘typos’ (form) and ‘graphein’ (to write). The exhibition’s visual, functional, and aesthetic elements are crafted based on the scientific and artistic findings of typography. In typography, art gains its strength as an imaginative element from the use of simple and abstract symbols. The ‘Lorem Ipsum’ exhibition, showcasing the work of nine esteemed artists, explores typography from two contrasting perspectives: as a tool and as an end. It assesses its significance in contemporary art by examining the interplay of objects, images, and symbols. The boundaries between abstract and concrete thought, whether represented, described, recalled or imagined, dissolve when text is combined with images. In this way, ‘Lorem Ipsum’ offers an approach that embraces all possible meanings while disrupting the chain of symbols adopted by society, exploring the tension between meaning and meaninglessness.”

Upon concluding the one-month physical event, the exhibition will be available for viewing on the Odeabank website.
